Mask Mandate Information for Members – June 13, 2022

As you have heard, on June 11, 2022, the Chief Medical Officer of Health revoked the remaining Directives concerning measures to protect Ontarians against the transmission of COVID-19. This includes Directives pertaining to the “Mask Mandate”. The Directives will be replaced with Ministry of Health guidance for health care workers and organizations. 

The Ministry has decided that face masks will still be required in long-term care and retirement homes and recommends mask use in higher-risk congregate living settings, such as shelters and group homes.

The College supports the right of members make their own well-informed and well-reasoned professional judgment and to implement policies that reflect careful consideration of the best interests of their clients, staff and themselves, as well as local risks of viral transmission and vulnerability factors .
