Comité d’inscription: processus

Under the Code, if an applicant meets the qualifications and requirements, the Registrar may issue a certificate of registration.  However, if it appears that the applicant does not meet the qualifications and requirements, the Registrar refers the application to the Registration Committee for a determination.  It is the duty of a panel of the Registration Committee to determine whether the applicant meets the requirements for certificate of registration.

The Committee is divided into two panels.  The Chair of the Committee serves on both of the panels to ensure the consistency of decision making between panels. The Registration Committee meets approximately every other month. For the convenience of applicants wishing to submit information to the Committee, meeting dates are posted on the College’s web site. After considering an application and any submissions, the panel of the Registration Committee may take an order doing any one or more of the following:

  1. Directing the Registrar to issue a certificate of registration
  2. Directing the Registrar to issue a certificate of registration if the applicant successfully completes examinations set or approved by the panel.
  3. Directing the Registrar to issue a certificate of registration if the applicant successfully completes additional training specified by the panel
  4. Directing the Registrar to impose specified terms, conditions and limitations on a certificate of registration of the applicant and specifying a limitation on the applicant’s right to apply for removal or medication of the term, conditions or limitations.
  5. Directing the Registrar to refuse to issue a certificate of registration.

In addition, applicants may be referred to the Registration Committee for advice and recommendations as to how they can bring themselves to meet the registration requirements and to acquire and demonstrate the knowledge and skills required for their declared area of competence.
