EDI Working Group Update

The College remains committed to ensuring Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) throughout the College and its regulatory processes and in promoting EDI in the profession, as a whole.

The EDI Working Group has continued to focus on its goal of identifying areas for change within the College. It has been considering the diversity practices across the various College Committees providing some direction and assistance to them in incorporating EDI in their work. To this end, the Working Group has scheduled meetings with the Committee Chairs to discuss how they can best implement EDI initiatives in their Committee work. The goal is to have completed these meetings by the end of March 2022. The Working Group is moving forward with the creation of a voluntary survey to gather information on the diversity of the membership to assist in further promoting diversity among those involved in College activities.

Under the direction of the Working Group, a half day EDI training workshop took place on December 3, 2021 for the College leadership.  The session was attended by over 65 individuals including the College Council, Committee Chairs and members, and the senior management team and staff.  The Working Group is reviewing the training evaluation surveys and considering next steps for further training and education.

Discussions continue with the training programs regarding the diversity of students in graduate programs recognizing these students represent the individuals who will eventually become the membership of the College.  The College’s EDI webpage is updated regularly providing valuable resources and regular EDI updates.

The next meeting is scheduled for the early February.
